MT 30 (LEC) – CC 1 year, 5 months ago HAPPY MOTHERS’ DAY! – Today, as I looked at a histological slide of a hair root, I couldn’t help but think about motherhood—especially in time for Mother’s Day. The hair root, though small and hidden beneath the surface, is where everything begins. It anchors each strand, feeds it, and helps it grow—just like a mother does for her child. At the base, the dermal papilla supplies nutrients and support, reminding me of the love and care mothers give so quietly and constantly. We often only see the hair on the outside, just like we sometimes forget the unseen sacrifices and strength that come from the one who nurtures us from the very beginning.
This tiny structure under the microscope is a beautiful reminder: even the smallest, hidden parts can be the most powerful. Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible moms out there—you are the root of so much life and love.
