    Connective Tissues 🔬
    1. Areolar Tissue (HPO)
    2. Mucoid Tissue (Scanner)

Areolar tissue derives its name from its loose and airy appearance. The extracellular matrix is the most significant feature of loose (areolar) connective tissue with large spaces between fibers. It surrounds blood vessels, nerve bundles, muscles, and organs, while also occupying the gaps between organs and linking the skin to underlying muscles. While mucoid connective tissue, identified as Wharton’s jelly within the umbilical cord, consists mainly of a gelatinous tissue primarily composed of a ground substance with few collagen or reticular fibers.
