    EOQ vs EOP

Economic order quantity (EOQ) is a metric that represents the ideal order size to minimize costs for the business. It is a formula used by businesses of all sizes and types that order and hold inventory. Inventory management systems and ERP systems can automate economic order quantity calculations to allow businesses to make the most informed decisions regarding orders and inventory management. On the other hand, the economic order point (EOP) is a term used in stock management and logistics to determine when to reorder a particular item before stock runs out. It is computed as the sum of mean demand through lead time plus safety stock. Mean demand through lead time is the product of mean weekly demand times the expected value of the lead time in weeks.
