    “Respiratory Diseases in Women”

This article caught my attention, as it emphasizes the complexity surrounding respiratory diseases in women, reveals significant sex disparities, and is essential for promoting better health care practices. It is not only that women experience certain conditions differently than men but also that women face higher incidences of specific diseases, for example, bronchiectasis and interstitial lung diseases. Notably, the underrepresentation of women in clinical trials has historically failed to provide a comprehensive understanding of their unique health needs and treatment responses. There is increasing evidence that women with respiratory diseases develop at younger ages, with differing symptomatology, including heightened dyspnea in COPD and atypical presentations in obstructive sleep apnea. For these disparities to be addressed, research and clinical strategies must be targeted and focused on improving overall outcomes and ensuring equitable healthcare for all respiratory disease patients.
