Histologically, the renal corpuscle includes a visceral layer of podocytes covering fenestrated glomerular capillaries, while the tubules are lined by specialized epithelial cells—such as cuboidal cells with microvilli in the proximal tubule for absorption and simple squamous cells in parts of the loop of Henle—enabling selective filtration and urine formation.
