Initially, these were just words acquired to understand Silliman and the essence of being a Sillimanian, but they have gradually evolved into a comprehensive philosophy that profoundly influences my outlook on life today. These Latin expressions symbolize a profound trinity — the way, the truth, and the life — intricately weaving a vibrant tapestry of purpose and significance across the fabric of my existence.

During challenging times marked by adversity, “Via, Veritas, Vita” emerges as my unwavering companion, offering solace and encouragement to embrace happiness. It serves as a perpetual reminder that the path I tread, the truths I uncover, and the life I lead are not solely products of external circumstances but aspects that lie within the realm of my control. It shows that Silliman University helps students find the truth and learn important things.
