Epithelial tissues cover the body’s surfaces, both internally and externally. They shield the body, absorb nutrients, and assist in eliminating waste. The tissues also create glands that produce sweat, saliva, and other fluids. Epithelial cells are tightly stuffed together, creating a protection against germs and harm. They can be flat, cuboidal, or columnar, depending on their location. You can find them in the skin, the lining of the mouth, lungs, stomach, and numerous organs.
