The nephron, being a microscopic structure, can be compared to the same structures in the digestive system. Its parts and major functions (absorption, filtration, and secretion) made me compare it with the stomach, small intestines, and large intestines. The glomerulus being the stomach, the proximal tubule being the duodenum, the loop Henle being the jejunum, the distal tubule being the ileum, and the collecting duct being the large intestine.
