    [2] Philippine Health System

    • The video is about the social advocacy in Philippine Healthcare. Because the poor have unfair and unequal access to health services, the WHO refers to the Filipino healthcare system as “fragmented”. Low government funding for the program results in significant lacking of funds expenses, which expands the wealth disparity even further. Many people lack access to basic medical treatment. And the nation has a high rate of maternal and infant mortality, as well as a high rate of fertility, which causes issues for individuals who have particularly restricted access to this fundamental care or for people who are usually in poor health. The Philippines’ healthcare system faces a scarcity of human hospital facilities, particularly nurses. As a result, the system operates more slowly and inefficiently. The bulk of health professionals in the Philippines work in the more expensive privately operated sectors, which has a negative impact on healthcare. Nine cancer clinics was built as part of a scheme called “doctors to the barrios” that was created to address inequality. The doctors in the barrios developed a public-private cooperation strategy as part of their goal to upgrade government-run hospitals, add private facilities, and supply more sophisticated medical equipment.
