– They are similar in their type of blood vessel, by the way they transport blood, both arteries and veins have different layers, and the one direction blood transportation. -

With the exception of pulmonary blood vessels, arteries transport oxygenated blood while veins transport deoxygenated blood. Arteries have strong walls made of muscle tissue. Veins have thinner walls and need valves to keep the blood flowing.
