MT30 CD: Histology 4 years ago I chose my illustration on connective tissues because it resonates with me the most. Connective tissues remind me a lot of my grandparents, especially my grandmother. We know that connective tissues are responsible for binding structures together and acting as a supportive framework for the organs. They help store fat, transport substances and protect the body against diseases. I’d like to think that my grandparents are the same way. It is our grandparents who keep the family bound together. They keep the family close and pass along their virtue. Some people even say that once grandparents are gone, the family bond will never be the same. Our grandparents are the supportive framework of our household, next to our parents. Grandparents are also protective of us. Other grandparents are like loose connective tissues, outgoing, lenient, and allow us to have our own space. Some grandparents tend to be more strict and uptight like dense connective tissues. At the end of the day, our grandparents will remain an important part of our being just like the connective tissues we possess in our bodies.
