MT 14 – BB 2 years, 10 months ago The Philippine Health System is basically the health system of the Philippines but what makes this a popular health system (for me) is how the delivery of healthcare is being done and how the system tries to continuously heal itself. The common facilities where the healthcare services are provided are by Government Hospitals, Private Hospitals, and Primary Health Care Facilities. The Philippine health system is financed by the national and local government, insurance (which can be from the government like PhilHealth or from private companies), out-of-pocket, and donors. The staff it has are highly qualified but the problem lies in the majority of the health care facilities having poor quality especially when this facility is in the most rural areas of the Philippines. However, just because the staff rating is high, the Philippine health system suffers from the lack of medical staff as the majority chooses to emigrate abroad since the Philippine health system is unable to pay them with the income they deserve. Furthermore, the current status of the Philippine Health System has also been negatively affected as members of the government in charge of it are often corrupt. Nevertheless, the Philippine health system still strives and continues to improve itself especially as many learn from how health systems abroad operate. Now, the Philippine health system is slowly getting and pushing in the Universal Health Care Law that was signed by the former president Rodrigo Duterte.
