MT14- Health Information System helped me gain a deeper understanding with what goes in the administrative side of the laboratory. With activities related to knowing and creating policies and manuals I’ve learned the tedious process which goes behind a well-functioning clinical laboratory. The creation of our own Virtual Lab also enlightened me about how challenging it is to establish, fund, and run a clinical laboratory.

And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.”

Material Management is essential in a clinical laboratory for efficient operation. Material management provides for availability of materials when needed. Which results to the provision of quality services because there won’t be a shortage of supplies and the supplies can be bought from tried and tested reputable vendors. Material management also helps both laboratory and household by being cost-efficient. There is a high chance of getting lower prices when buying things in bulk or wholesale. If there is an inventory of materials, there would be less waste. Through inventory, we can keep track of the materials that could be coming close to expiration and prevent the purchase of items which are still highly in stock.
