The importance of material management in a clinical laboratory and in a household:
Material management is the planning, organizing, and control of supplies starting from the initial purchase to the delivery of materials to the manufacturing plants or warehouses. This is important in the clinical laboratory to ensure that there are sufficient supplies, reagents, kits, and laboratory wares present when we are doing our jobs. It helps us manage inventory, spend money within our budget, maintain a constant supply of resources, and avoid making unnecessary purchases. All in all it helps us to manage our assets, organize the necessary materials, and use our money wisely. Most of these techniques can be applied in the household, though centered around managing our money or expenditure. We can use these techniques to plan for our meals, toiletries, and other supplies in order to survive.
