Histology Art (MT 30 – I) 2022 4 years, 6 months ago It was composed of ciliated pseudostratified columnar epithelium with several Goblet cells in the first to third segments. The number of Goblet cells decreased towards the back (fourth and fifth segments). The cilia, which are situated at the epithelium’s tip, were plentiful in the first three segments but diminished in quantity and finally disappeared in the posterior segment.A.b. bicolor’s stomach had cardiac and pyloric segments. Epithelium, basement membrane, stomach gland, and lamina propria were all part of the tunica. In the stomach, the epithelium changed from pseudostratified columnar epithelium to single columnar epithelium with PAS-positive mucous cells. The mucosal projections were angular and short.
The gut has four sections: anterior, intermediate, posterior, and rectum. The anterior intestine has a columnar epithelium with microvilli and PAS-positive mucous cells. Intermediate and posterior intestinal mucosa had extensive villous folding with Goblet cells.
