Philippine Health System
“Access to health care is a human right. It must be universal. It must be physically accessible wherever and whenever needed. It must be comprehensive. It must affordable”
The Sad Reality of the Philippine Healthcare System – YouTubePhilippine Healthcare System by Gwenn Marie Dimalanta-
The video shows people with similar views on the Philippine Health Care System. They voice out their displeasement with the country’s health care since they are saying that those in the lower socio-economic class are not experiencing quality healthcare because they do not have the means to afford it. I believe that the Healthcare System in the Philippines follows the Public and Private Care model. Generally, public hospitals and other public facilities in the Philippines provide preventative and primary care. In contrast, private hospitals offer specialist care in cardiology and orthopedics. Furthermore, In the Philippines, private treatment typically implies more comfort for patients. The video, although painful, shows us the reality of the Philippine Healthcare System. It tells us that only the rich and privileged can afford quality health care and that even public hospitals aren’t well-equipped with the equipment and healthcare workers needed. It is sad to think that those who need help are not able to access it just because they do not have the money for it.
