In the video, it stated 10 facts about the said topic, and I have learned that the Philippine Health System has a lot of issues and problems. Somehow, it is of high quality; however, I agree that the system we have still needs to be improved. I remember a certain lesson we had last semester that was about the challenges of the health system in the Philippines. One of the challenges is that the majority of Filipino citizens cannot fully access medical care. Of course, not all of us can afford everything. Some still need financial assistance. That’s why those people go to public hospitals rather than private ones. One way of helping them is to give them access to basic healthcare. Also, the country lacks sufficient healthcare staff, and provincial hospitals have restricted access to medical supplies. The inadequate number of healthcare professionals results in an overburdened system and limits their ability to give proper attention to all patients, thereby lowering the standard of care. Additionally, the lack of access to medical supplies in rural areas can cause patients to incur higher costs as they are forced to travel to more urban areas to obtain the necessary resources. Health is very important, which is why taking action to solve these problems is a big help to the people.
