This video explains the anatomy and physiology of the nephron, an important organ in kidney function. A nephron is the functional unit of the kidney, where most processes occur. Filtration occurs in the renal corpuscle, where blood gets filtered, and then the “good stuff” is reabsorbed back into the body. The secretion of the “bad stuff” out of the blood forms urine to eliminate it from the body. The human body contains about 1-2 million nephrons in each kidney that have the same process.
