We can ingest and digest food and drinks thanks to our digestive system in the body. This body system is consists of the gastrointestinal tract (GI tract or digestive tract) and the liver, pancreas, and gallbladder. The GI tract consists of hollow organs joined in a long, twisting tube from the mouth to the anus. The mouth, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, and anus are the hollow organs that make up the GI tract. On the other hand, the liver, pancreas, and gallbladder are referred to as the solid organs of the digestive system that aid digestion and regulate energy flow to the rest of the body.
