Histology Art (MT 30 – J) 3 years, 8 months ago The respiratory system is an intricate system of organs and tissues that allows you to breathe. Lungs, airways, and blood vessels make up this system. The muscles that press your lungs together form your respiratory system. These parts work together to transport oxygen throughout the body and remove waste gases like carbon dioxide. The respiratory system is responsible for a number of functions. It aids in inhaling and exhaling, as well as communication and scent (breathing out). The air is warmed and moistened to the temperature of the human body. Ensures that all of your body’s cells receive oxygen. Exhaling removes carbon dioxide and other waste gases from your body.
