Lemme share another Histology Art about the Digestive System to remind everyone to be very careful with your food intake. There are several organs that might be affected by what we eat and drink especially alcohol. Guys masarap ang bawal pero mas masarap ang mahabang buhay!
    • What is a Small Intestine? A long tube-like organ that connects the stomach and the large intestine. It is about 20 feet long and folds many times to fit inside the abdomen. The small intestine has three parts: the duodenum, jejunum, and ileum. It helps to further digest food coming from the stomach. It absorbs nutrients (vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, fats, proteins) and water from food so they can be used by the body. The small intestine is part of the digestive system.
      • The large intestine includes the colon, rectum and anus. It’s all one, long tube that continues from the small intestine as food nears the end of its journey through your digestive system. The large intestine turns food waste into stool and passes it from the body when you poop.
        • What is the Function of your Stomach? Your stomach’s purpose is to digest food and send it to your small intestine. It has three functions: Temporarily store food. Contract and relax to mix and break down food.
