    8. Fibrocartilage
    • The tough material of the intervertebral discs; the intraarticular cartilages of the knee, wrist, and temporo-mandibular joints; and the articular cartilage of the temporo-mandibular joint and the joint between the clavicle and the sternum are all made of fibrocartilage.

      It has a glossy blue-white look and is extremely durable. Fibrocartilage is a tough, very strong tissue that is found mostly in intervertebral disks and at ligament and tendon insertions; it is similar to other fibrous tissues but contains cartilage ground substance and chondrocytes.
