Primary Health Care – Medicus Mundi Mediterrània

    • According to the World Health Organization, Primary Health Care is a whole-of-society approach to health that aims at ensuring the highest possible level of health and well-being and their equitable distribution. Primary health care enables health systems to support a person’s health needs as early as possible along the continuum from health promotion and disease prevention to treatment, rehabilitation, and palliative care, and as close as feasible to people’s everyday environment. Basically, in Primary Health Care, everybody is involved in making sure that the highest possible standard of health care will be achieved, to meet the healthcare needs of everybody. Thus, it is not limited only to doctors and nurses, and other allied health professionals that would contribute to the improvement of the health systems.
