What I’ve learned from MT 14 — Health Information System for Med Lab Science

I’ve learned the subject. I had always been aware with the use of some sort of system to at least hasten the process within the our medical laboratories and to keep patient details organized and in line with the requested tests under their names. However, I never really realized it was more than that. I never really realized how big of a reach HISs really had in that they were more than just the recording of simple day-to-day information. Health Information Systems involved management, the enabling of good planning, the communication of gathered data, and even better decisions for future decision-making in the health sector. I realized even more the importance, as well, of medical technology as a whole in the running of good health services and the promotion, maintenance, and improvement of health overall.
