The blood makes its entrance into the heart through these two main veins called the superior and inferior vena cava, bringing along deoxygenated blood from the upper and lower parts of the body, right into the right atrium. From there, it’s like a journey through the heart’s inner chambers as the blood flows into the right ventricle and then gets pumped off to the lungs through the pulmonary artery to grab some oxygen.
