This technical procedure outlines the process for conducting the Anti-HIV (1&2) Test, a qualitative immunoassay designed to detect antibodies against Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) types 1 and 2 in human serum or plasma. This method is primarily intended for screening and diagnosing people at risk of HIV infection, as well as monitoring high-risk populations. It should be used as a preliminary test, with results interpreted in conjunction with clinical findings and other laboratory tests. This test is not intended for blood donor screening or diagnosing HIV infection in neonates or children under the age of 2.
