    • 1.Cilia – found in the lungs, respiratory tract and middle ear. It has a rythmic waving or beating motion. Cilia keeps the airways clear of mucus and dirt, allowing us to breathe easily without irritation. 2. Goblet cells – secrete mucus in order to protect the mucous membrane where they are found, they accomplish by secreting mucins, large glycoproteins formed mostly by carbohydrates. 3. Basal Cells – they continually divide new cells constantly to push older ones up toward the surface of the skin where they are eventually shed. 4. Basement membrane – the primary function of the basement membrane is to anchor down the epithelium to its loose connective tissue underneath. 5. Capillaries – these brings nutrients and oxygen to tissues and remove waste products.
