What is an Information System
Content
Information systems are the study of integrated hardware and software networks that individuals and organizations use to collect, analyze, produce, and handle data (Zwass, 2022). In essence, an information system can be viewed as a particular kind of communication system that uses data to process it as social memory, or data is transformed into information which then uses that information to acquire knowledge. Different organizations can employ information systems in different ways. References Zwass, V. (2022, December 15). Information system | Definition, Examples, & Facts | Britannica.
