The tunica albuginea, a thick, white fibrous connective tissue capsule, covers each testis and continues inside to form septa that divide the organ into lobules. Each testis contains roughly 250 lobules. -

Each of the 15 to 20 lobes is served by a lactiferous duct. Before opening separately into the nipple, these ducts expand to form the lactiferous sinus. -

The ureter is lined by urothelium, a type of transitional epithelium that is capable of responding to stretches in the ureters. The transitional epithelium may appear as a layer of column-shaped cells when relaxed, and of flatter cells when distended. Below the epithelium sits the lamina propria. -

Each kidney is held in place by connective tissue, called renal fascia, and is surrounded by a thick layer of adipose tissue, called perirenal fat, which helps to protect it.
