Kidney. The renal and urinary systems aid in the elimination of urea, a liquid waste product, as well as the regulation of water and other substances like potassium and salt.
Tiny filtering units known as nephrons in the kidneys help eliminate urea from the blood. Each nephron consists of a glomerulus, a tiny tube called a renal tubule, and a glomerulus. The urine is formed as urea, water, and other waste substances move through the kidney’s nephrons and renal tubules.Ureter. The kidneys send urine through these tubes, which are somewhat narrow, to the bladder. The ureter’s muscles contract and relax constantly, causing urine to flow downward and away from the kidneys. A kidney infection can occur if urine is allowed to accumulate or if it is permitted to remain stagnant.
Bladder. The bladder stores urine, so you can control how often and how much you have to go to the bathroom. Layers of muscle tissue line the bladder and stretch to hold urine. The bladder can usually hold between 400 and 600 mL.
