MUSCLE TISSUE
Muscle tissue is made up of cells with the unique ability to shorten or contract in response to the movement of body components. The tissue is densely cellular and well-vascularized. Because the cells are long and slender, they are occasionally referred to as muscle fibers, and they are typically organized in bundles or layers surrounded by connective tissue. Actin and myosin are muscle contractile proteins.

Skeletal muscle tissue, smooth muscle tissue, and cardiac muscle tissue are all types of muscle tissue.
