Interests

(welcome to my profile! I'm usually a very nonchalant-lowkey person but out of spite, I want to compete with a friend in having the longest bio for the interests section. enjoy <3) ——— The short answer is my interests are reading and writing. Yes, those are the only 2 interests I have. Though it may seem small and common, it is the best way I can explain my interests. Of course, I also involve myself in other activities like cooking, arts and crafts, painting and some sports, but my definition of "interest" is a hobby – meaning something I do frequently, and I do not do the aforementioned examples frequently. I usually cook when I'm craving something specific, or want to try a new recipe, and normally just buy my food. For arts and crafts and painting, I only tried it during COVID since I had nothing else to do and basically, I am not artistic nor patient enough to have them as my hobbies. I genuinely salute people who can do art because no matter how man times I try, I just can't get into it. It's supposed to be a relaxing activity, but it just stresses me out. Lastly, I play sports ONLY when I can play with others. I would not say I am a sporty person, but I wouldn't say I'm not a fan of sports either. I'm just a casual enjoyer. I am, however, not a fan of sports that make me play solo, since in my opinion, it takes the fun out of sports. The sports I play most are chess and badminton (since chess is the most accessible and my sister is a badminton varsity and I help her train), but my favorite sports so far are soccer and billiards (but I plan to play more, so maybe this list will change). The reason why I don't play them as much even if they are my favorites are 1-not a lot of girls play soccer, which is understandable since it's a very physically aggressive sport, and 2-most places with billiards are expensive since you pay by the hour. The places with cheap billiards either have gambling involved or alcohol, so it's a pass for me. Moving on, the long answer is I hyper fixate on characters I like from various shows (whether it's from a book, an anime, a television series, an indie youtube series, game series, or movie) and write my own version of the story to how I want it to continue or end. Or if I like the original plot, I expand on it and add characters of my own that I think would greatly help the main characters. By "hyper fixate" I mean it genuinely. I know the characters inside out like the palm of my hand, from their height to their deepest darkest secrets, and each of them have their own dedicated document explaining why I like them. I also want to add that the characters I hyper fixate on are not limited to humans, but also animals and spirits or even inanimate objects as long as they are given a personality by the author. How did I get to characters other than humans? well, although I am open to all genres in shows, my favorite one is fantasy-fiction. It is important to note the hyphen in between fantasy and fiction since they are TWO DIFFERENT THINGS, not synonymous (🤓☝️). Fiction describes stories that seem impossible, but can have truth in it while Fantasy is all imagination. Nothing in fantasy is true except the basics like the characters' thoughts and emotions (but to be honest, even that can be altered in a fantasy setting). A very good example would be Kilgharrah, a dragon from the TV series: MERLIN from 2005. As a dragon, he has lived for years beyond comprehension due to magic, making him wiser and stronger than any king. However, because he is a magical being, he has a God-complex with a thirst for power (after all, he is a beast who chooses to follow his primal instinct despite also being intelligent). Which is exactly why I like him. Even though he is all-powerful, we can see in the series how (ironically) he still needs to ask Merlin (the main character) for help when using his powers because a beast is nothing without a master, no matter how strong the beast may be, but he refuses to bow down because of how prideful he is, despite seeing how this does not benefit him at all. And just as I have mentioned before, anything can happen in fantasy, so apart from a dragon being an existing creature in the show, Kilgharrah can also speak fluently. Why am I yapping about this? because ever since I was a kid I loved stories, games, shows about making stories. To be honest, when I was a kid I first wanted to be an author, but I don't like the thought of constantly being pressured to put out content, so I stuck to writing and reading since I do this to relax and for fun, not for cash. So how did I get into my current course of BSMT? well, I got hooked on a TV series called "CSI" where they show the process of forensic science. Forensics was actually my first choice for a course, but it is underdeveloped in the Philippines, so if I want to pursue it I need to go out of the country, so I chose the closest alternative which is Medical Technology! But don't get me wrong, BSMT is not something I regret, since the main thing I'm after is laboratory access and activity, so it still 100% works out. If you are still here reading, congrats! I salute to you soldier. As a reward, I will share more personal information about myself: – I like the color blue. Actually, that's an understatement. I am OBSESSED with the color, and I don't know why. It just feels right to me. I love most shades but my favorite is Royal Blue with the specific hex of: #3720C9! – I am an older sister. Me and my younger sister have a gap of 2 years. I am a Sagittarius and she is a Capricorn (unfortunately) – Apparently I like the wrong things in life, like mint chocolate ice cream or just plain mint ice cream and pineapple on pizza. I also like gravy on spaghetti and olives but for some reason I don't like ketchup on egg. – I am a savory-tooth. Yes. If there is a sweet-tooth, there is a savory-tooth. Or umami-tooth. I used to be a sweet-tooth, but after discovering that almost everything in the Philippines was sweet, I have been looking for flavors that are out of the country. Literally Now a few of my favorite shows and games in no order are: – Hunter x Hunter – Violet Evergarden – Detective Conan – Doctor Prisoner – Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo – A Killer Paradox – The Book of Life – Star Trek – Men in Black – The Lord of the Rings – Merlin – CSI – Dungeons and Dragons – Granblue Fantasy – Yugioh! Well, I hope you enjoyed the ride, but this has come to an end. Thank you for reading!!
