Information Systems

In the simplest way to put it, Information Systems is “information in a system”. However, with more context, information systems allow for not only the recording of important information, but also the deliverance of it for the support of improvement of society who uses it through its management. Information Systems

Seen in many different industries, whether it be the business sectors or even in the healthcare fields, the systems involved in aiding our collection, dissemination, storing, and retrieval of data are classified as Information systems. These complex networks of technology assist organizations and/or individuals in processes pertaining to the gathering, organization, and managing of all sorts of vital data in a much more structured and methodical platform. Centered on the goal of improved efficiency in any workplace/home setting, Information systems serve as databases that can hold various resources and materials all in… Read More

IOS (Closed source software) VS Android (Open source software)

Looking at the two, I’d say Android is a better option because it offers flexibility — allowing users to freely modify the system; it’s more transparent; and it has wider developer support as more users use it because it’s more cost-effective (Mcdonald, 2011). However, I don’t think I’ll get to use the advantages it offers because I’m not good at handling computers and the technicals associated with it. It takes a lot of time to learn about it and I don’t think I have the time to invest in learning those things…. Read More

iOs or Android

Having had the opportunity to utilize and familiarize myself with both iOS and Android operating systems over the years, I find it challenging to choose between the two. Nevertheless, as a current Apple device user who has experienced difficulties with using an Android phone in the past, I tend to favor iOS. Moreover, my preference for iOS over other operating systems stems from my belief that its software updates are superior, making it a robust and secure competitor.

Laboratory Information System

What is LIS and its Uses? The LIS is at the center of clinical laboratory information management. It is a combination of software, hardware, and operating systems created to support the clinical laboratory’s operational procedures. Depending on the requirements of each laboratory, the LIS setup can be altered and is highly versatile. In order to effectively manage the information flow between patients, healthcare professionals, and laboratories, LIS must be planned to optimize both laboratory operations and individualized clinical care. The use of laboratory information systems can enhance both patient care and laboratory… Read More

Laboratory Information System

Laboratory Information Systems and their uses: Laboratory Information System (LIS) manages the day-to-day workflow and activities of a clinical laboratory including asset tracking, status monitoring, task segmentation and distribution, and is fundamental to the operation of a laboratory. Laboratory Information Systems are unique and specialized to each laboratory as they are made depending on the requirements of the staff, users, and the laboratory itself (Sinard J. et. al., 2015). Artificial Intelligence and its Implications: Artificial Intelligence (AI) refers to the replication or simulation of human intelligence by computer systems or machines. For… Read More

Laboratory Information System (MT14CC Baldomero)

What is LIS? The LIS acronym stands for Laboratory Information System. It is a software program used in clinical and research laboratories to manage and record laboratory procedures and outcomes. LIS features frequently include monitoring of patients and samples, ordering of tests and reporting of results, quality control, and inventory management (McCudden, Henderson, & Jackson, 2020). Uses of LIS? Automating procedures like result reporting and inventory management, laboratory operations became more efficient. Lowering the possibility of human mistake and providing methods for quality control and quality assurance, test findings’ accuracy and quality were… Read More
