The 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙖 is the main airway. The trachea divides into the left and right bronchi, which lead to the lungs. The right lung has three lobes and the left has two. The left lung is smaller than the right because it shares space with the heart.

Histology Art (MT 30 – J) 4 years agoDigital Art of Respiratory System TissuesThe respiratory system is the network of organs and tissues that help you breathe. It includes your airways, lungs and blood vessels. The muscles that power your lungs are also part of the respiratory system. These parts work together to move oxygen throughout the body and clean out waste gases like…

The bronchi branch into smaller airways (bronchioles), which can be as small as half a millimeter (or 2/100 of an inch) across. The bronchial tree gets its name from the shape of the airways. -
Each bronchiole has thousands of tiny air sacs (𝙖𝙡𝙫𝙚𝙤𝙡𝙞). The lungs’ millions of alveoli cover over 100 square meters (1111 square feet). The alveolar walls contain a dense network of capillaries. The thin barrier between air and capillaries allows oxygen from the alveoli into the blood and carbon dioxide from the blood into the alveoli.

Histology Art (MT 30 – J) 4 years agoThe gallbladder is located right underneath the liver. This thin-walled, pear-shaped sack is about 7 to 10 centimeters (2.7 to 3.9 inches) long and up to 5 centimeters (2 inches) across at its widest point. The gallbladder stores and concentrates bile from the liver. The bile is then released into the first section of the small intestine (the…

Histology Art (MT 30 – J) 4 years agoThe digestive system includes the digestive tract and its accessory organs, which process food into molecules that can be absorbed and utilized by the cells of the body. Food is broken down, bit by bit, until the molecules are small enough to be absorbed and the waste products are eliminated. The digestive tract, also called the alimentary canal… -

Histology Art (MT 30 – J) 4 years, 1 month agoThe circulatory system (cardiovascular system) pumps blood from the heart to the lungs to get oxygen. The heart then sends oxygenated blood through arteries to the rest of the body. The veins carry oxygen-poor blood back to the heart to start the circulation process over. Your circulatory system is critical to healthy organs, muscles and… -

Histology Art (MT 30 – J) 4 years, 1 month agoNervous tissue is found in the brain, spinal cord, and nerves. It is responsible for coordinating and controlling many body activities. It stimulates muscle contraction, creates an awareness of the environment, and plays a major role in emotions, memory, and reasoning. The spinal cord is composed of long tracts of myelinated nerve fibres (known…

Histology Art (MT 30 – J) 4 years, 1 month agoThe 3 types of muscle tissue are cardiac, smooth, and skeletal. Cardiac muscle cells are located in the walls of the heart, appear striped (striated), and are under involuntary control.Smooth muscle fibers are located in walls of hollow visceral organs (such as the liver, pancreas, and intestines), except the heart, appear spindle-shaped, and…

MT 30 – IJ (LEC) 4 years, 1 month agoThis research article highlights a new method of using human embryonic stem cells (hESCs) with retinoic acid, ascorbic acid and proteins to mimic epithelial tissue.
Because epithelial tissue requires keratinocytes, the researches used a specific culture method for the hESCs to differentiate into keratinocytes. What they obtained was a pure…[Read more]
